2017 Hike-A-Thon

Walk with us on Sunday, September 17th
from Central Park to Fort Tryon Park*
To increase wellness & cancer survivorship
in northern Manhattan, Bronx & beyond

"...the part of Manhattan you wish you knew about years ago!"
– Past Hike-A-Thon Participant

Come explore the cliffside parks of northern Manhattan, traversing a total of 5 parks over 6 miles of breathtaking views of both the East and Hudson Rivers. Highlights include a tour over the newly re-opened and car-free High Bridge (designed using the ancient engineering principles of Roman aqueducts). Also learn how a dump site was transformed into Swindler Cove, an oasis for environmental education & preservation, named after Billy Swindler, a city garden advocate. Along the way, Moving For Life will lead health-giving stretches and teach you how to turn any park into a green gym. Top off the day with a stroll through the Cloister's world-class collection of Medieval art and don't forget to digitally capture a few victory high-fives overlooking the Hudson River in Fort Tryon Park. The best part is that every step will raise much-needed dollars for wellness programming in the very neighborhoods we pass through.

Special Bonus:
Everyone receives a complimentary Moving For Life button. Hikers reaching sponsorship thresholds receive limited-edition Moving For Life backpacks and/or hats.
